In today’s terminology, I would translate as:

• The spirit of the squirrel: Worthwhile work. Align employees around a common purpose and provide clear values to guide them.
• The way of the beaver: In control of achieving the goal. Give employees autonomy and provide them with the required resources & skills.
• The gift of the goose: Cheering each other on. Give TRUE (timely, responsive, unconditional, enthusiastic) feedback and celebrate success.
